It is a terminal station and a UNESCO World heritage site in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The erstwhile name of CST was Victoria Terminus or VT. Later the same was changed to honour Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. His name was always prefixed by Chhatrapati, a royal title.
