Details

This Italian Gothic styled exuberance was designed by the British Born architect Frederick William Stevens in 1878. It is a terminal station and a UNESCO World heritage site in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The erstwhile name of CST was Victoria Terminus or VT. Later the same was changed to honour Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. His name was always prefixed by Chhatrapati, a royal title. Both the former & the current initials are commonly used i.e. VT & CST.
