CompareNAKSHI BITHI | Where patterns become poetry.
A fish, repeated in rhythm. A story, carried through stitches.
In Nakshi Bithi, the fish takes centre stage — a familiar symbol of abundance and auspiciousness in Bengal’s cultural imagination.
Embroidered by hand on pure handwoven Tussar silk, the recurring fish motifs are accompanied with floral and geometric patterns in earthy pink, greens and dark grey outlines.
There is a certain harmony in repetition. What begins as an individual motif gradually becomes a larger composition, shaped by the patient hands of artisans in rural Bengal.
Rooted in the traditions of Kantha embroidery, Nakshi Bithi brings Bengal’s folk vocabulary into contemporary interiors.
A little of Bengal’s cultural memory, preserved in stitches.
