The human powered mode of transportation empowers many rickshaw pullers till date when it comes to earning their livelihood. This scene is often found in the streets of North Kolkata that adds a nostalgic value & character to that part of the city.
Although this is perceived as physical exploitation and is discouraged in many parts of the country, this has become a comfort zone for many pullers. Especially for those whose horizons hover around pulling the rick-shaw only.
